First in April they announce a blow-out quarter and up dividends, then 90 days later they miss based on slowing North America sales. Investor whiplash! Even opening a super trendy, men only store on Bleeker in Manhattan hasn’t done it.
Better get in there quick tho’ as they just put Stephanie Tilenius from KP on their board. She’s a consumer internet guru (ex-Google). Is she a fan?
Seems to me that since Lew’s throwing the outlets under the bus (he said they were “entirely responsible” for the sales deceleration) it’s a great time to get in there, what with your Burberry experience and all, and talk about the impact of salesforce technology on brand and retail.
p.s. Every sales rep selling to Coach, whether they’re selling IT stuff, materials or services, can stay up on their customer’s business real-time. It’s in the bag.
